SIA for Microsoft Teams

Post hiring updates directly into Teams — without copying anything across

Hiring updates need somewhere to land that people actually check. Connecting Microsoft Teams lets SIA post a direct message, a group chat, or a channel update straight into Teams, instead of you copying it out of chat and pasting it in yourself.

Connecting Microsoft Teams

Connecting Microsoft Teams
  1. In Chat, open Connectors from the sidebar

  2. Find the Microsoft Teams card and click Connect Microsoft Teams

  3. A Microsoft sign-in tab opens — sign in with your Microsoft 365 account and approve the permissions listed

  4. You're redirected back to Chat and the card now reads Connected

What you can do once connected

Once Microsoft Teams is connected, SIA can reach your colleagues directly inside Teams:

  • Send a direct message to a colleague — give SIA their name or email and it resolves who that is and sends the message

  • Post to a channel — in any team you belong to, so an update lands where the whole group already looks

  • Pick the right person, chat, team, or channel from a list — rather than you having to type an exact matching name

  • Read recent messages in a chat or channel — so SIA can catch you up on what's already been discussed before posting anything

  • Preview the message before it sends — so you can ask for changes before anything goes out

Disconnecting Microsoft Teams

  1. Go to Connectors in the sidebar

  2. On the Microsoft Teams card, click Disconnect

This revokes the Teams authorisation only — your other Microsoft connections, if you have them, are unaffected.
