SIA for Outlook

Send candidate emails and book interviews from your Outlook account — in one connection

Connecting Outlook is a single authorisation that covers both email and calendar. SIA can send candidate emails from your Outlook address and book interviews on your calendar with a Microsoft Teams link attached automatically — without you switching between tools.

Connecting Outlook

Connecting Outlook
  1. In Chat, open Connectors from the sidebar

  2. Find the Outlook card and click Connect Outlook

  3. A Microsoft sign-in tab opens — sign in with your Microsoft 365 account

  4. Review the permissions listed — this single approval covers both mail and calendar access, which is why Outlook is one card instead of two — and click Allow

  5. You're redirected back to Chat and the card now reads Connected

What you can do once connected

Once Outlook is connected, SIA can handle both the email and scheduling side of running an interview:

  • Send candidate emails from your Outlook address — with cc/bcc, and the option to save as a draft instead of sending right away

  • See your real schedule and find free slots — within your working hours, rather than proposing a time that conflicts with something else

  • Book an interview with a Teams link attached, and email the invite — all in one step

  • Cancel a booking and notify everyone invited — if a call needs to be moved or called off

A few things to note

  • Reading a candidate's emailed attachments isn't available through Outlook yet. If a candidate sent in a take-home assignment or portfolio as an email attachment and you need SIA to read it, that capability is currently available through Gmail only.

  • Nothing is sent or booked without your approval. SIA shows you the drafted email or proposed time before anything goes out or lands on a calendar.

Disconnecting Outlook

  1. Go to Connectors in the sidebar

  2. On the Outlook card, click Disconnect

Since email and calendar access were granted together, this removes both in one step.
