SIA for Slack

Share hiring updates with your team directly from SIA — without leaving the chat

SIA can screen resumes, run interviews, and draft updates on its own. But sharing any of that with your team means copying it out of chat and pasting it into Slack yourself. Connecting Slack removes that step — ask SIA to post an update and it lands directly in the channel or DM you name, with nothing to copy or switch between.

Connecting Slack

Connecting Slack
  1. In Chat, open Connectors from the sidebar

  2. Find the Slack card and click Connect Slack

  3. A new browser tab opens on Slack's sign-in and permission screen — choose the workspace you want to connect, review the permissions listed, and click Allow

  4. Slack redirects you back to Chat and the card now reads Connected

One step most people miss — adding SIA to a channel

Connecting the workspace only lets SIA see the channels it's actually a member of, the same way it works for any teammate. If you want SIA to post into a channel, you need to add it there yourself:

  1. Open the channel in Slack

  2. Click the channel name at the top, then Integrations (or Add apps, depending on your Slack version)

  3. Search for and add the SIA app

Do this for every channel you want SIA to post into. It won't appear in a channel on its own just because the workspace is connected.

What you can do once connected

Once Slack is connected, SIA can act as a bridge between your hiring pipeline and the people who need to stay informed:

  • Post an update to a channel — a candidate update, a shortlist, or a summary, sent to whichever channel you name

  • Message someone directly — tell SIA who to reach (by name) and it works out their Slack account and sends them a DM

  • Catch you up on a channel or DM — SIA can read recent history in a conversation and summarise what was discussed or decided, so you don't have to scroll back through it yourself

Messages show up in Slack just like any other teammate would send them. No special setup needed on the receiving end.

A few things to note

  • Nothing is posted without your approval - Every message SIA drafts, whether a channel post or a DM, is shown to you for review before it goes out. Nothing is sent silently.

  • SIA can only see channels it's been added to - Being connected to the workspace is not the same as being in a specific channel. See the adding SIA to a channel step above if a channel isn't working as expected.

Disconnecting Slack

  1. Go to Connectors in the sidebar

  2. On the Slack card, click Disconnect

This revokes the workspace authorisation immediately. SIA can no longer read from or post to any Slack channel or DM until it's reconnected.
